Community partnerships matter. Commissioner Garcia spent time at the Legacy Community Health Center in Fifth Ward to learn more about the vital services they provide. Our teams also discussed opportunities to strengthen support for our neighbors and families across Precinct 2.

Update: TxDOT crews have made great progress today following the water main break/ pavement issue on I-10 at Normandy. The impacted area has been filled with a concrete material and crews are hoping to get some of the eastbound lanes open today if all goes well! Check back.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for the Sylvan Beach Park Phase 1 Improvements Community Meeting! We appreciated the great turnout, thoughtful feedback, and meaningful discussions as we shared early design ideas and heard directly from the community.

Today marks 40 years since the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy. This mural at Precinct 2 Challenger 7 Memorial Park stands as a lasting tribute to the seven astronauts who lost their lives in service to exploration, discovery, and education.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Precinct 2 staff who worked tirelessly, day and night, to ensure our roads, bridges, and facilities remained safe during these past days. Their dedication and service to our community do not go unnoticed.
