It’s April 15 and Patricia and I received a windfall today. Our second grandson just arrived! Finn Patrick Pastides.
So who cares if we owe taxes too?!
Even though we are older, and the hats are older, the excitement of winning in the final four is every bit as fresh as it ever was. We love Dawn and this team, Gamecocks forever.
Lou Holtz helped change USC’s motto from “Wait till Next Year” to “I Really Can’t Wait till Next Year.” He also was a donor to our library and one of the wittiest commencement speakers we ever had. RIP, Lou.
Mini Conversations: Dean Charles Bierbauer youtu.be/Lc9uKSAU1js?si… via @YouTube
It’s a great Labor Day for all Gamecocks!
But I want to salute a friend, colleague and great applied scholar, Charles Bierbauer, who we lost this week. Here’s our “mini conversation.” Rest in peace.
@GamecockSoftbll A modern milestone for Carolina! And everyone knows what great hosts we are. Let’s be welcoming, civil and courteous fans…before and after the games. In between, let’s go crazy!
A’ja Wilson…a woman of the year? You bet. You’ll never meet someone with a sneaker named for them who is more humble, and more caring about her community. This is really big and highly deserved! So glad we retired your number at USC!
Love our football program, players, coaches and fans. We will be back even stronger next year! Let’s hold our heads high. Happy 2025 to Gamecock Nation.
Ran into former Gamecock student body president Luke Rankin and his family in the London Underground! After griping about the CFP snub we agreed that we are the most beloved U.S. university in London. Anyone can challenge that, but the voting is over! Happy Holidays to all.
This was epic, heavenly, redemptive, exciting, emotional, historic. Congrats Coaches, players and FANS!!! We are proud Gamecocks! Let’s never forget this one. On the CFP!
I know we’re behind with one quarter to go in the Palmetto Bowl, but everything I’m feeling is that it will turn our way before the end. Go Gamecocks and Believe!
The White House was the Garnet house today as the president, and what seemed like the whole city of Washington, celebrated our national championship WBB team. What a proud day for the university and for all of South Carolina.
I couldn’t be more happy to be “graduating” today with the USC Class of 2024. You see, Patricia and I are receiving Honorary Doctor of Public Service degrees at the 3PM ceremony. The real graduates are way smarter; it took us twelve years to get our degrees! Congrats to all.
A NYT reporter described Coach Staley’s remarks after the game and quoted Maya Angelou who said “People will forget what you said, and what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Thanks Coaches and players for making all Gamecocks feel so special today!
