@Oliver_Eagleton We have a UK politics of fetishism, from the flags and simpering racist nostalgia of the right, to the fairness & identity Sunday school infantilism and wealth tax mantra in lieu of economic substance & analysis of the left. White noise to evade reality.

@NewStatesman @meganekenyon I'm told Keir Starmer's son is next because he thinks extracting the gold from immigrants teeth is somehow "Nazi". Keir told him not to be so precious, there are votes to be won.

I am sorry to say this, but I think the Greens are the most anti-British party in our history. I cannot think of a movement so dedicated to the impoverishment, immiseration and cultural degradation of our people.

Can I remind Labour ministers & MPs blaming "14 years of Tory austerity" for our woes, that Labour chancellor Alistair Darling began austerity after 2008 financial crisis? In March 2010 he warned of deeper cuts than Thatcher's over next two parliaments: theguardian.com/politics/2010/…

Days after the BBC dossier revealed that renowned historians warned the BBC about having unqualified & biased figures distort the truth & push woke history docs, we get this: a series on Empire by David Olusoga, a man who only has a BA in history & is obsessed with race politics I don't want a pro-Empire or anti-Empire documentary series. I want a balanced Empire series that fairly and accurate acknowledges both the good and the bad. Nothing I have seen in Olusoga's writings on Empire, colonialism or slavery leads me to believe we will get anything close to that. This week's article in the Telegraph reveals how leading historians warned the BBC about engaging fringe figures who distort British history: telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/11/0…

A leaked BBC memo told staff that “the argument over how much aid has crossed into Gaza is irrelevant” and instructed them to blame Israel—regardless of the facts. The BBC doesn’t conduct journalism, they conduct propaganda.

Weak Keir Starmer has had the candidate he didn't want and who he fired last month imposed on him by the Labour Party. He didn’t have the backbone to stand up to Lucy Powell on welfare spending before, he won’t have the backbone stand up to Lucy Powell now. That means more unfunded welfare spending like reversing the two-child cap and higher taxes this autumn to pay for it. The failure of the Keir Starmer candidate, Bridget Phillipson, is another defeat of the Prime Minister’s authority. Phillipson should now get back to reversing all the damage she has done to England’s education system.

In 2021 I resigned over the UK Government continuing to allow the hounding of Veterans who served in Northern Ireland. Today that - and the Legacy Act I fought to bring in to end that practice, are yet again, entirely vindicated. The parasitical lawyers, spineless politicians on all sides, and wilfully mis-leading pressure groups need to stop weaponising families obvious and legitimate pain, and go back to that Legacy Act as the last real chance for truth before those who know it pass away. And it goes without saying, veterans should be able to live their lives in peace, and the Nation as a whole - led by the Prime Minister - should restate their gratitude for the peace that now exists in Northern Ireland. I won’t hold my breath.

If you come to Britain and want to stay, you must contribute. As Kemi Badenoch said: “modern Britain is a multiracial society, but it must not become a multicultural one where shared values disappear”. Here’s why our ILR policy, published in spring, is so important 👇
Katie Lam@Katie_Lam_MP

Indefinite Leave to Remain entitles people to benefits, social housing and free healthcare. Most migrants can get it after five years, whether or not they’ve paid a penny in tax. This is crazy. We keep trying to change the rules, but the Government keeps voting us down.

If Labour brings in a wealth tax, I’m moving to Poland and before anyone screams “pay your fair share” let’s look at reality: Inheritance Tax – 40% above £325K
Earn £100K–£125K? Effective tax rate is 60%
Capital Gains – 28% on property, 20% on investments
Stamp Duty – up to 12% (15% for companies) On top of all this, the UK already taxes you through: National Insurance, Corporation Tax, Council Tax, VAT, Excise Duty, Fuel Duty, Air Passenger Duty, Insurance Premium Tax, Green Taxes, Gambling Taxes, Plastic Bag Charges, Carbon Emissions Levy, Landfill Tax, TV Licence Fee, Congestion Charges, Sugar Tax… and now VAT on private school fees Add another wealth tax and people with capital, businesses and jobs will simply leave Why would they stay? When the productive leave, the bill doesn’t disappear, it lands on you.

Inflation’s stuck at 3.8%. That’s almost double what it was when the Conservatives left office. Labour have hiked taxes, refused to cut waste, and sent borrowing through the roof. We’re the only party with a real plan to grow the economy, and the backbone to deliver it.
Office for National Statistics (ONS)@ONS

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) rose by 3.8% in the 12 months to September 2025, unchanged from August 2025. The September, August and July 2025 figures were the joint-highest recorded since January 2024, when the rate was 4.0%. Read the article ➡️ ons.gov.uk/economy/inflat…

Borrowing is soaring under this Labour government. Rachel Reeves has lost control of the public finances and the next generation are being saddled with Labour’s debts. If Rachel Reeves had a plan – or a backbone – she would stand up to her backbenchers, get spending under control and cut the deficit. Instead she is plotting to hike taxes yet again to pay for her failures. Only the @Conservatives have the plan and the leadership to break this doom loop by delivering £47 billion in savings so that we live within our means and get taxes down.
Office for National Statistics (ONS)@ONS

Public sector net borrowing excluding public sector banks was £20.2 billion in September 2025. This was £1.6 billion more than in September 2024 and the highest September borrowing for five years. Read the full article ➡️ ons.gov.uk/economy/govern…
