Why do I want Summerville at United: •Threat in transitions & “static” 1v1s. •Quick to act/react to surrounding pressure & good use of arms/body to shield. •Quick feet allow him to bait defenders into committing. •Sudden changes of speed & direction.

Ederson for £35-40m is a much better deal than Tonali for £80-100m imo

@ronaldobrownn_ On paper, we wouldn't swap 3rd for 15th and a conference league win. However, Palace fans will be singing about this season for the rest of their lives and the next. Whereas we will have long forgotten. Just a matter of perspective.

Anderson's price has DOUBLED since I said this. Also, if Enzo/Rodri go Real Madrid & Jose keeps Tchouameni, I hope we seduce Camavinga. He doesn't play much as it already.

3 Midfielders I'd love #MUFC to turn their attention towards. 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐌 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐍: Elliot Anderson (£50-65m? +) 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐁𝐔𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐓: Lucien Agoume (£20m) 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐃 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐋: Eduardo Camavinga (£90m+)

Mateus Fernandes 🇵🇹 I still don't think he's PERFECT, but there is clear potential there. His first touch passing under pressure around the corners would link well with Kobbie & Bruno. There's a few things tho I think would frustrate some fans at times on the big stage.

@Mish_clinton Said it perfectly. The aerial threat in both boxes is going to be a big miss and something Fernandes doesn't come close to solving, would need dealing with via a diff player. Got great potential, but I don't think he's ready to be starting week in week out at the highest level.

Matheus Fernandes’s defensive numbers in West Ham’s last stretch look solid (tackles + interceptions showing good reading of the game and work rate). He’s young (21), durable with 3k+ minutes, and his passing accuracy is a clear step up from current Casemiro. Allowing a partner like Mainoo more freedom is a realistic upside. That said, context matters: West Ham have been fighting relegation most of the season, so those “last 4 matches” defensive spikes could partly reflect a team sitting deeper or chasing results desperately. Casemiro’s shot-blocking, aerial dominance, leadership, and big-game experience (plus clutch goals) aren’t easily replicated by stats alone & that’s the “intangible” gap that often shows in a top-6 press. Mateus as a cheap, high-upside squad option makes sense for depth. But “the best fit to replace Casemiro” is a stretch when Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest) has been more consistent across a full season in a better setup. Availability is great, but United need someone who raises the floor immediately, not just potential. But he’s Worth monitoring if the price is right post-relegation, though.

@KingSaf79128820 @AcademyScoop He’s certainly a better replacement than Baleba. I wasn’t sold on the idea of him next to Kobbie, even last summer. Good athlete and carrier, but leaves gaps behind him too often that get exposed. I don’t think Fernandes is better than Anderson or Tchoumeini tho

@Harrison_ABD @AcademyScoop Matheus Fernandes is the "best" Casemiro replacement. He has everything Scoop is talking about on Baleba. His weakness is just his height. The guy is far better than all the midfielders we've been linked to. (Vitinha and Kante) cimbined

I'm quite torn on Carlos Baleba. In the past I've felt he's a midfielder big clubs should be signing at virtually any cost, but I've cooled a fair bit on him since. His scanning and spatial awareness isn't perfect, and he can be caught out on the ball in a similar way to Casemiro at times. There are instances where he puts too much trust in his physicality and so dwells under pressure and contact, resulting in him mistiming or skewing his release. There are certain midfielder instincts he lacks (maybe symptomatic of his development as a winger), but, in fairness, who better than Michael Carrick to instil those? His passing is also interesting - his technique and ball striking suggests he's capable of being a strong passer with solid variation, but his selection, timing and general execution are often lacking polish. Again, something I think can be worked on to an extent. My stance is that there are players who do most of what he does (with other qualities) at a lower price point than Brighton will likely still demand. If that changes though and you can get him for lets say £15m more than an Ederson, then I'd probably opt to pay that extra premium as a third midfielder. I wouldn't gamble on him until one or two 'sure-thing' midfielders (Mateus Fernandes) are through the door.
