There’s no doubt that Queensberry’s cards have gone to a different level and you may say I’m just moaning for the sake of it. But I can’t lie, even though we are getting Wardley vs Dubois, I am very disappointed with the lack of build up. Now the money men at the top can say it’s sold out etc and that maybe so. But this should be the talk of the boxing world. Two British fighters, who knock people out, fighting for the heavyweight championship of the world. I sound like a broken record with this. But how many times do I point to those 24/7 programmes we saw in Floyd Mayweather fights. That’s was a big factor in him becoming a megastar. Why aren’t we getting this type of content? You’re bringing behind scenes to the fans and with this, the fighters profiles rockets, even in defeat. Dubois going back to Don Charles is added spice. I’m telling you, if done correctly and gritty you will bring infinitely more eyes to this fight. It baffles me that the only promotion you get in a multi-million pound fight is a press conference to announce it and the usual standard fight week content, which hasn’t changed in 50 years. The lack of creativity is incredible. It’s not just this fight, it goes on all across boxing. I’m not saying reinvent the wheel. But I want to be counting the days down to a fight as big as this.
