Speaking on BBC Newsnight, the Green party leader compared Shabana Mahmood's proposals to the policies of Nazi Germany. "This is extreme, this is inhumane and it is a government of cowards," he said. "They went for the pensioners, they went for the disabled, and now they're going for people who are fleeing war and conflict."
