Harshman teachers learn all summer long!

Late to post but we are still celebrating Harshman students David and Roboam who marched with the IPS all city band in the 500 festival parade along with our band director--the amazing Mr. Dorsett!

One of our 7th grade teams welcomed @MauriceBroaddus to Harshman today to host our very first author visit. Our advisories read "The Usual Suspects" and our book club read "Unfadeable." It was amazing watch our students engage! #ProvingWhatsPossible @pwp_ips @IPSSchools

Congrats to our Teacher Ambassador @MsHereth on being named 1 of the 5 finalists for @IPSSchools Teacher of the Year Award! Ms. Hereth teaches avanced math at Harshman Middle School. The winner will be announced next week during #TeacherAppreciationWeek. #ProvingWhatsPossible

Harshman is now a @PLTWorg Distinguished School! We are so proud of the hard work our PLTW teachers have done to get there. Thank you @katheimans and Ms. Wilcher.

Local author @MauriceBroaddus is coming to Harshman in May. One of our 7th grade teams has been reading his novel The Usual Suspects and our book clubs are reading Unfadeable.

We are so grateful to our community partners @DREAMaliveinc and @BFLCenter for providing transportation for our field trip. Our Team Butler 7th graders had a great time visiting @NCAA Hall of Champions.

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year @MsHereth. Ms. Hereth is a #NBCTstrong teacher and a #PAEMST state finalist for Indiana.

We were so excited to gift Ms. Gomez and Mr. Rojas the @BFLCenter Viking of the Month Award. Ms. Gomez and Mr. Rojas work tirelessly to support our Spanish Speaking students and families.

Today we learned about local Black History and took our team of @Harshman_MMS 7th graders to visit the @AttucksMuseum and we watched the @PBS documentary. What an incredible and important part of the history of Indianapolis. Thank you for preserving it @IPSSchools.
