Even as global economic uncertainty continues to weigh on them. We're building a tight network of strong partnerships abroad. And doing our homework: boosting innovation, reducing energy costs, removing barriers, cutting red tape and creating skilled labor.

🚀 Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Henning Ehrenstein from DG GROW to discuss the upcoming Horizontal Single Market Strategy. Removing barriers to the #freemovement of goods & services and enforcing existing rules is key to building a stronger and more competitive 🇪🇺 #SingleMarket!
The head of my cabinet, @luciesestakova, excels with her deep understanding of everything important at the 🇪🇺 European level and her admirable dedication. I witnessed this during our successful Czech presidency, then as a minister and also during my preparations on the role of the European Commissioner. I’m very much looking forward to continuing our successful cooperation.
Our first major initiative will be a Competitiveness Compass. Building on the 3 pillars of the Draghi report. Innovation, decarbonisation, security. Everyone in the team will contribute. Starting by unlocking the financing needed for the green, digital and social transition.
