Private policing company owners sitting on the police oversight board is allowing the people who benefit most from ineffective public policing to be the regulators of public policing. Think they have any incentives to drive better outcomes? No. It hits them in their own pockets.

Lucky us. The private policing companies owned and operated by officers are making their way onto the St. Louis police oversight board. Can’t disagree with their experience but they are incentivized to create market conditions that require secondary services. 🫠
