Aarti Rani president of the Turamari Union Federation, Nilphamari, Bangladesh learnt about zinc rice through the HarvestPlus ENFS project's nutrition counseling. "I had no idea that youngsters who lack zinc grow shorter. I learned about it from this course" she told HarvestPlus.

Pregnant women can benefit from zinc rice just as much as unborn children can. Since a baby's development usually takes place in the mother's womb, a healthy baby could be born if the mother consumes zinc rice, ‍said Dhaka Cantonment Medical Hospital Trainer Clinical Nutritionist

Md. Motiar Rahman has been planting zinc rice (BRRI dhan74) in Thakurgaon in northern Bangladesh. He stated he takes zinc rice and tries to get others to do the same. He asserts that zinc rice is less prone to insect, pest, and disease infestation but with higher yield.
