Let's talk about Vaccines. Still seeing a lot of confusion going around about the Mechanism of vaccines in use. I will attempt to explain it as simply as possible. Please read, and share. So, think of the SARS-CoV-2 virus as Ferrero Rocher. 😋😋 1/n

Azharuddin was loved by Indians and was made captain, but moment he got caught in match-fixing: “I’m targeted for my religion.” Hamid Ansari stayed at top posts, later became VP. Nobody objected. Moment his tenure completed: “Musalman dara hua hai.” Sanjay Dutt, a top actor, loved by the masses. The moment he got arrested in the 1992 Mumbai blast–related cases: “I’m targeted because my mother was a Muslim.” Aryan Khan, a superstar’s son. Living a private life, loved by superstar fans. The moment he got arrested in drug-related cases: “He is targeted for being a Muslim.” AR Rahman, one of the most loved composers in India. The moment his work dried up because his kind of music faded and he didn’t put in enough effort to catch up: “I think I get less work for communal reasons.” All the achievements are only theirs; failures aren’t. Failures are of the people who “target them for their religion". Bro, you were of the same religion when people were loving, celebrating, and supporting you. If religion were an issue, you wouldn’t have got the fame, money, and idolatry, but you never acknowledge that. When everything is going right, religion is invisible. It appears only when accountability begins.

Anupama Chopra didn’t just review cinema, she curated ideology for decades. From Film Companion to festival panels, the pattern is fixed: Films questioning the Indian state = “brave”, “nuanced”, “important”. Films asserting Indian power like Uri, Kashmir Files, Kerala Story, Dhurandhar suddenly become “triumphalist”, “provocative”, “agenda driven”. Same critic. Same platform. Same verdict year after year. This isn’t evolving taste. It’s gatekeeping nationalism through elite liberal morality, where patriotism must apologise and power must feel guilty to be considered “good cinema”. That’s not criticism. That’s narrative control disguised as sophistication.

The comments section is entertaining. One section empathising and understanding your predicament and echoing your concerns. While the other section is simply bathing in the emotional fuel that radiates from "an injured child in pain" without actually knowing hospital systems and SOPs. I've seen this myself firsthand, as have other medicos everywhere. Emotion takes charge over practical sense almost every single time and it becomes tough to reason with the patients/relatives. There's no single algorithm to deal with such situations, no universal solution to it, except for maintaining patience on our end and expecting the same from them. Unsolicited advice: Don't respond to the negative comments/abuses/as hominems here on X: it is futile. Lengthy arguments to no end, and you won't be actually changing anyone's mind. I was the same a couple of years ago, having pride as a medico, a certain idealism and perspective, thinking I'll bring a change. Fact is, no one on Twitter/X is willing to change. You'll only be wasting your own time and peace of mind responding to each and every one nitpicking on your post.

Around 12 noon today, a couple rushed into Medicine Casualty holding their 3-year-old. The child had fallen off a table; his wrist was visibly deformed, likely a clean break. He was crying inconsolably, surrounded by 4 or 5 frantic relatives. "Doctor, treat my child fast!" they shouted. I immediately assessed the situation. As a Medicine resident, I am neither an orthopedician nor a pediatrician. I knew that I was not in a position to manage this situation. I calmly told them: "This is Medicine Casualty. Please turn left, the Orthopedic Casualty is right there. Since you have many people with you, have one person take the child there immediately while another goes to the counter for a ticket so the doctors can order X-rays and meds." That’s when the shouting started. "You good-for-nothing doctors! Can’t you see this is an emergency? Why do we need a ticket?" My junior rushed over to help, only to be met with threats: "Treat him immediately or things will get bad for you." Then, the phones came out. Cameras were shoved in our faces. "Look at these doctors refusing to treat a child!" Here is the context a 30-second viral video would miss: 1. I was directing them to the correct specialist only 3 minutes away. 2. Without a hospital ID/ticket, the Ortho team can't even log an X-ray request into the system. 3. Staying in Medicine Casualty was actually delaying the child's care. To de-escalate, I eventually had to leave my own post unattended to personally escort them to the Ortho wing and explain the situation to the doctors there. Hours later, after the child was stabilized, the family returned to apologize. I appreciate the apology, but the damage of those "recorded" moments lingers. This is the daily reality for doctors: being vilified for following the very protocols that ensure a patient gets the right treatment from the right specialist. Before you share a "doctor refusing treatment" video, ask yourself: Are they refusing, or are they trying to get the patient to the help they actually need?

For the Gig workers of India, a lesson in incitement and provocation. In 2006,Tata Motors acquired 1000 acres of barren agricultural land on a lease to build the Tata Nano plant in Singur, West Bengal. A “Save Farmland”/Singur land movement took shape, backed by Mamata Banerjee and organisations demanding return of about 400 acres belonging to “unwilling” farmers. Tata staff and engineers were attacked or blocked from entering the site, creating a hostile climate. CM Modi stepped in quickly, offering prime land at Sanand, just 20 kilometers from Ahmedabad, at highly competitive rates. The Gujarat government under CM Modi, extended a loan to Tata on favorable terms &within just 96 hours, all administrative processes were completed, and the deal was sealed. Today in 2025, Sanand Gujarat has TATA , Maruti , Honda and Hero factories. Modi Govt has recently approved Tata's ₹50,000 crore semiconductor chip fabrication unit in Gujarat. Tata Nano production ended in 2018 due to low demand, but the plant now produces models like Tiago and Tigor. It employs over 4,500 people and hit 1 million cars in 2024. Ratan Tata won the case against Mamta Banerjee's government in the SC. The West Bengal Government has to pay ₹766 crore plus interest as compensation to Tata Motors for the loss it incurred during building the Nano Plant in Singur. Singur and agricultural farm land today in 2025. Barren, desolate, forgotten. The farmers and the people of Singur, who were gullible targets, are the only casualties.

Gig Worker Payment problem is with us, don't just blame the companies. We want Free Delivery on Cart Value of ₹99 but want companies to pay Rs 50 to delivery boy. There's option to Tip in all Apps, how many times have we given tip or at the time of delivery? If any app starts charging Rs 20 delivery, we immediately switch to other app. Even the "10-15 mins Delivery Pressure" is because of our demand. Even during rains, if any app shows 30 mins to deliver, we check for quicker options. Yes, there's a competition between Instant Delivery companies, but it's because we switch apps while ordering every time. While ordering, we only care about who delivers at lowest cost and quickly. Do we care which app pays more to delivery boys? Moreover, I don't think instant delivery can ever be long time job for anyone to run family. It should be taken as part time support till they find something good. We just try to show we are caring but won't do anything for the problem. Just like now nobody is concerned about Kirana Stores struggling to earn living. If anyone raises the issue, we will feel bad.. Do post that we should buy from local stores and then order ourselves from apps. When Baba ka Dhaba issue came, everyone started talking about promoting small street foods. How many days did it last?

I am from the opposition and I supported MNREGA as a minimum guarantee to work. So now that I do read the figures put out by @deepigoyal let me put this out bluntly & straight : MNREGA maxes at ₹400/day for 10 hrs of gruelling labour. The average pay however is about ₹350/ day for 10 hours. Q-Commerce offers more than double for relatively easier jobs. How many of those who are cribbing or attacking Zomato or Blinkit actually Tip? Non- F- existent. The data shows it! I do want better pay for our delivery heroes, so instead of being a Porsche Poverty expert and a Mercedes Marxist can you instead of cribbing over champagne and cheese just tip a bit more? Game? Lastly I am all for better pay, more safety and more rights but if we over-regulate the Q-Commerce industry, it will collapse and render the same people unemployed who the wine guzzling crème de la crème are whining about !!
Deepinder Goyal@deepigoyal

Facts below (1/5): In 2025, average earnings per hour (EPH), excluding tips, for a delivery partner on Zomato were ₹102. In 2024, this number was ₹92. That’s a ~10.9% year-on-year increase. Over a longer horizon also, EPH has shown steady growth. Most delivery partners work for a few hours and only a few days in a month. But if someone were to work for 10 hours/day, 26 days/month, this translates to ~₹26,500/month in gross earnings. After accounting for fuel and maintenance (~20%), the net earnings for the partner are ~₹21,000/month. Note: Earnings per hour are calculated on total hours logged in, including the time when the partner might be waiting to receive an order. Earnings per “busy hour” will be higher but that’s not the right metric to look at. On top of this - delivery partners earn 100% of tips given by customers. The average tip per hour in 2025 on Zomato was INR 2.6 and in 2024 was INR 2.4 per hour. Tips are transferred instantly, with zero deductions. We absorb the payment gateway processing cost ourselves. About 5% of the orders get tipped on Zomato; 2.5% on Blinkit.

I'm inclined to agree with @deepigoyal here. The 10-minute delivery is a service incentive provided on the back of superior logistical support. At the end of the day, it is a promise and not a guarantee - something that the majority of the population fails to differentiate. You'll get different services in a Tier-1 city vs a Tier-3 city. You'll get different services depending on the time of the day. No sensible person would hold the company, or worse, the delivery rider, to that 10-minute promise. A few minutes here or there on a Blinkit delivery is not going to impact our lives. And if it does, then it is high time we introspect and see where we went so wrong that we cannot bear to wait 5-10 more minutes for a delivery. We have the option of providing complete addresses and landmarks on the apps - yet, we direct the delivery rider "thoda aage aa jao, idhar jao, udhar jao". We have the option of tracking our delivery in real-time - yet, how many of us are waiting at the doorstep/gate when the delivery is expected to arrive? One may disregard it, but these seemingly trivial things matter to that a rider who is trying to get to maximum places and shave off precious minutes - all for that 5-star rating. As for the question of bending the traffic rules - sure, at an individual level, the delivery riders would be skirting the rules to fit in maximum deliveries possible for themselves. But it's not as if the rest of the population follows the traffic rules by the book. Zig-zagging through traffic, breaking the signals, over speeding - it is all too common - something that needs to be addressed at the community level. Delivery riders, unfortunately for them, get noticed because they stand out in their uniforms, and ultimately, that affects the brand's image. Do they represent the brand when in uniform - yes they do. Can the brand enforce measures to ensure that their riders adhere to the laws? Difficult to implement in a vast nation like ours, but I believe it is possible. But, unless we as individuals don't uphold our individual civic responsibility and hold ourselves to the same standards, it is absolutely hypocritical to single out the riders for doing the very same things.
Deepinder Goyal@deepigoyal

One more thing. Our 10 minute delivery promise is enabled by the density of stores around your homes. It’s not enabled by asking delivery partners to drive fast. Delivery partners don’t even have a timer on their app to indicate what was the original time promised to the customer. After you place your order on Blinkit, it is picked and packed within 2.5 minutes. And then the rider drives an average of under 2kms in about 8 minutes. That's an average of 15kmph. I understand why everybody thinks why 10 minutes must be risking lives, because it is indeed hard to imagine the sheer complexity of the system design which enables quick deliveries. Also, if you've ever wanted to know why millions of Indians voluntarily take up platform work and sometimes even prefer it to regular jobs, JUST ASK any rider partner when you get your next food or grocery order. You will be humbled by how rational and honest they will be with you. Having said that, no system is perfect, and we are all for making it better than today. However, it is far from what it is being portrayed on social media by people who don't understand how our system works and why. If I were outside the system, I would also believe that gig workers are being exploited, but that's not true.

#SpoilerAlert #StrangerThings5finale TBH, the finale episode was quite a dud, given all the hype surrounding it. -- The re-introduction of Kali served no impact on Vecna/Henry's fate. -- No high-stakes dramatic one-on-one faceoff between El and Vecna or Will and Vecna. Would have loved to see El and Will fighting Vecna in tandem, together. -- Considering the build-up around Vecna's power, it felt that he was taken down a bit too easily. -- Hopper should have had a bigger role to play in this finale. -- No explanation for the aftermath of destroying the upside down. Whatever happened to Dr. Kay and her team? Years in the building, this finale, and as it happens so often, we are left wanting more. I would be interested in a prequel spin-off exploring how that Dimension X particle came to be in the briefcase.

Nope. It is absolutely necessary to show everyone exactly who these terrorists are, what they look like, where they come from, what kind of religious fanaticism they believe in. Them, all their supporters, sponsors and especially those seeking to whitewash their ideology - all must be exposed. Like you are doing right now.
