This whole thing seems to stem from an erroneous viral tweet. Know who did actually stay at a sanctioned hotel? Nick Shirley. We know because he broadcast from it and told everyone he stayed there.

Ironically it was actually @nickshirleyy who appears to have stayed in a sanctioned hotel on his trip while @hasanthehun obeyed the state dept requirements.
