Little homes can really punch above their weight.

New building rising up opposite King's Cross station - and will include a step-free entrance to the tube station from that side of the road -- replacing the existing stairs only entrance next to it.

We need to be REALLY specific about what is meant by “starter” To me, it’s a home where a couple can START their family … by having a baby. What kind of house that will be will depend on the kind of neighborhood (and the land values). It could be an apartment, attached rowhome, or small single family detached But in all of those typologies where it boils down to is the Baby Maybe: a small room that could be used for an office, or a nursery or a toddlers room. If we boil things down to that element, it means we can make the price as low *as possible* for the family to stay in a place for at least those first ~7 years they have kids. After that point, maybe they have made more money, earned some equity in the house (if they bought it) to be able to buy a larger house … or have figured out how to thrive in smaller spaces And that’s how we make *affordable* Starter Homes

When I think about how we should be building new suburban town centers and TOCs in Toronto/GTA, it should look more like this and less like VMC/Square One. And I think most suburbs would be shocked at how good the economics and quality of life in these places could be.
