Men, with their whole chest, will look a woman dead in the eyes and say, “I’m not ready for a girlfriend right now.” Then you pull up to his place and there’s three dogs waiting at the door—tails wagging like he just came back from war. The golden retriever drops a slobbery tennis ball at your feet. The mutt is already on the couch reserving your spot. The little one is spinning in circles like you personally invented bacon. Ladies, why pay for unconditional love when it’s already curled up on his bed, chewing his socks and staring at him like he hung the moon? We’re out here negotiating, compromising, and texting “you up?” while he’s getting forehead kisses from creatures that don’t even ask where this is going. Dogs don’t care if you’re emotionally unavailable. They don’t ghost, play games, or need you to define the relationship. They just want walks, treats, and to be told they’re the best boy in the world. That’s it. No “what are we?” No “I need space but also attention 24/7.” Just pure, sloppy, tail-thumping devotion. Maybe there’s a better bargain out there somewhere. But when it comes to dogs? You literally can’t go wrong. They’re the original “I’m not ready for commitment” loophole—and they’re winning.
