25th March 1992 was the Greatest Night in Pakistan Cricket history. Imran Khan led Pakistan cricket team to victory which was nowhere near to win the cup, clinched it as underdogs.
Pakistan won just 1 one out of first 5 encounters. Early elimination was on the cards but then cornered tigers didnโt looked back, winning 5 on the trot.
In Finals, Pakistan was in early trouble as both openers were back in hut. Aamir Sohail went for 4, Ramiz Raja scored 8. Then Imran Khan stood like a rock and scored all important 72 runs. Inzamam again carrying the form of Semis scored 42 off just 32 , Wasim Akram scored 33 off 18. A gutsy innings by Imran and cameos from Inzi and Wasim helped Pakistan post 249 on the board.
Later in the bowling, Wasim and Musthaq shined picking 3 wickets each and England were bundled out for 227. Wasim Akram was declared as Man of the Match.
34 years of Glory. 34 years of priceless journey. 34 years and no one could repeat it again. 34 years of the Great Imran Khan and his man winning the Cricket World Cup Final.
