@BJAJournals Here is the results after propensity score matching. Fewer complications related to wound healing and infection in inhalation anaesthesia group.

@BJAJournals Thank for the interest in this study. I just need to point out, that the figure is the unadjusted analysis. After propensity score matching, we found lower rates of surgical complications related to inhalation anaesthesia.

In healthy volunteers, we found different effect on lymphocytes during propofol vs sevoflurane anaesthesia. More studies in clinical settings are needed - both large randomized trials with patient centered outcomes and studies focused on pathophysiology bjaopen.org/article/S2772-…

We speculate that inhalation anaesthesia may promote factors that improve wound healing. The same factors may also promote perioperative metastasis progression bjanaesthesia.org/article/S0007-…

Our recent observational study on inhalation vs TIVA anaesthesia is out in @BJAJournals. Previously, we have found increased risk of cancer recurrence related to inhalation anaesthesia. Here, inhalation is associated with lower risk of wound healing and infection complications.
