As a Balancer it is hard to show off my work because it is background stuff and not as flashy or exciting as a sprite or map.
Luckily in Void's case there are some videos about it made by PokedexFillers.
Yesterday he showed off the gimmick I worked on. 😊

@JisUnbreakable Ah yeah, both sides like to demonize each other instead of finding solutions for the actual problem. I guess there are always some bad apples (often the loudest ones) and we need to focus on the good. 😁

Where instead of actually pushing female characters, they demonize existing male ones

Highkey this is a part of why if I ever develop games the protagonists will be women
People who aren't men don't bat an eye at being made to play as men because it's been very normalized. Even to the point that a lot of folks deadass aren't used to playing as women. At all

@Haunted_Ditto I know there are people like that. But generally, that doesn't come up as often. And also comes from a different issue entirely (which should still be addressed)

@OGNMeanGerman @rankomon Never claimed there weren't some oddities. I for myself am not a fan of the Sound-type.
The issue is that people insulted the game/dev for the plain reason of not liking the concept and this is a no-go imo.

@Haunted_Ditto @rankomon Sound type seems pretty awkward in the game. The Zubat line and Bronzor line are Sound type for example. Those Pokemon's types made sense and Sound feels shoehorned onto them.

yeah sound type is like, kinda "typical romhack" but complaints went so viral they actually removed it like that's a little much...?

But just creating it takes time. Coming up with the idea, planning, creating concepts, balancing, implementation and testing. Those are several hours sometimes even days of work.

@Haunted_Ditto @rankomon It’s not removed though. They simply added a separate version to download that doesn’t implement the sound type, which, if it was done on such short notice, means the sound type was a flexible programming aspect of the rom hack to begin with

@hellhound33334 @rankomon The issue is that almost no one gave a reason for their stance. Criticism only works if you give a reason instead of saying "I'm not going to play because I hate Sound-type".

@Haunted_Ditto @Ayreiiii What do you even do for team skys motivation, mostly. Team Sky just sounds like a meme, not something that would legitimately be a thing. If the motivation is "expand the sky" that's not exactly something you can reasonably do compared to Magma and Aquas, either.

@Haunted_Ditto @Ayreiiii Lowkey; as someone who doesn't care for Sound Type; I found myself rolling my eyes more at "Team Sky". Should probably disable comments if you don't want people discussing the news in your replies though, tbh. But I get why you wouldn't want to do that.

@Baylin_Todd Gen 3 has like the most solid roster of Pokemon. I love Kecleon, Spheal, Tropius, Flygon, Aggron and many more. ORAS is prolly the best remake and places like Fortree City are just crazy unique.
BW2 is just the whole package. Base BW was already great and 2 adds on top of it.

@Haunted_Ditto Turtwig is a goayed starter. Also it's very cool seeing your favorite gen, game and first gen all be different things, that's very unique and you don't see that often with most people. Would love to hear what makes you like gen 3 and bw2
