Token incentives were supposed to be temporary. Somehow, they became the default. If a protocol launches without emissions today, the first reaction is often: "Where are the incentives?" Which is a strange inversion. Now the absence of emissions feels unusual. For fixed-income RWA, this raises an interesting question: If the yield already comes from the underlying assets, should token emissions exist at all? Or have we just gotten used to them?
