Flood watch goes into effect tonight through Sunday for another kona low that is expected to bring widespread rain. Peak of the event will be Friday night to Saturday night. Saturated ground from last week's weather will bring potential for flooding even with less rain. #hiwx

When the Kona Low rolled in, the Hawaiʻi National Guard rolled out 🤝🌧️ Hawaiʻi National Guard’s High Water Vehicle Teams were out in force during the recent Kona Low storm, these specialized teams were on the front lines across multiple islands navigating flooded roads, reaching stranded residents and helping evacuate those in need. On Hawaiʻi Island alone, 24 civilians were safely assisted out of flood waters. These teams were ready to move at a moment’s notice, proving that when conditions get tough, HING is tougher. 💪
