@HawkHoops94 @ChrisDouglas515 Can’t tell ya where I got it from but do the math. Total NIL spent on the whole team was about 6.6 million. Stirtz got about 2.5 million, Alvaro got 1.5, Hausen got 600k, and Koch got a good amount to stay. Rest of the dudes aren’t getting much NIL.

I get the whole discourse between Iowa and Iowa State fans when it comes to basketball. But I feel like most fans are missing the potential of one of the greatest yearly rivalries in College Basketball for the next 10-20 years between TJ Otzelberger and Ben McCollum.

@HawkHoops94 @ChrisDouglas515 Yeah not happening. He was paid nearly 1.5 million in NIL this year and didn’t have as much production as we needed him to have throughout the season. I don’t think it’s a matter of Alvaro leaving so much as it is us pushing him out by cutting his NIL.

Why are so many banking on Alvaro leaving? Clearly a selfless culture and a familial-like fit is important to him, and that's what Ben is all about. Iowa was not his highest offer. He already took less money to be coached by Ben, and he just played a massive role in an E8 appearance.. if Iowa can be just 200-350k away from the highest offer he's a Hawkeye next year, book it.

The university of Iowa needs to pour a lot of money into our men’s basketball program. Starts with extending Ben McCollum and raising his buyout, then renovations to Carver, specifically the student section. Anything to make people show up and have fun again with MBB.

I just love how the Iowa BV made Connor Mccaffrey so pissed off at Iowa that the best women’s basketball player ever at Iowa won’t even acknowledge us. Such a soft little chump.

@nuttapper67 Yeah difference is we’re paying Alvaro a lot more money than Banks. Also I don’t think Alvaro’s size is really much use. We’re gonna need a center in the portal regardless. Alvaro had a +- of -11 in 8 mins of play against Illinois and their bigs.

Ben McCollum needs a little more talent in Iowa City, but retention feels like everything for this group. If guys like Cooper Koch, Alvaro Folgueiras and Tate Sage stay, Iowa is going to be a real factor. The proof is in the pudding. If you stay, McCollum gets you better.

@IowaProdz @HonchoMonchoHwk Heard somewhere his NIL is getting cut. Won’t see him playing here for no money. Plus he doesn’t really fit Ben’s system. Many times throughout the season Ben and Alvaro have mentioned the struggle of him fitting in with the system.

@Trackhistorian @Isaac__Trotter Alvaro does not have a great attitude man. At least not the attitude Ben McCollum likes to have in his program. There’s not gonna be a lot of room for Alvaro with Sage, Thompson, Koch, Banks (maybe), and Coon (maybe). His NIL is getting cut and he’ll hit the portal.

@Hawkballknower @Isaac__Trotter Kid has a great attitude and envision where he’ll be with a full year of strength training and coaching . Would be awful to lose Alvaro
