MMA badly needs MVP Promotions to succeed even as a special attraction. The rot in UFC is getting worse with every show. They need a real rival to kick them in the ass, even if that rival is built on nostalgia.

@HelenYeeSports 2000. I'd always seen the VHS's at the video store but when my grandpa was dying and I was staying at his place I rented one instead of a wrestling tape. UFC 16 Battle at the Bayou. First PPV I bought was PRIDE 16. It's sad to see where MMA is now, I've seen the lows and highs.

When did you first start watching MMA?

@witchywizdom Ingrid comes out in a few days I believe and will spike the fanbase big time, so you'll see a lot of new players then too.

@witchywizdom SF6 is the perfect "first real FG" game. If you have basic experience you can skip World tour but if not it teaches you the fundamentals. And each character has a unique ELO ranked so you can learn without being owned so badly. Fanbase is large so you'll get matches too.

@jasoneg33 It'll either be boring as shit or Khamzat will run through him like he's nothing. There's really no in-between and doesn't make me particularly excited. And that's before factoring in that Strickland is a POS racist who I don't want to watch in the first place.

@TerrellSocialst No matter how small it might be the lesser of two evils is still LESSER. And in this case we're witnessing the rapid decline of voting rights, freedoms, and integrity of our institutions. IF the midterms go off without interference, something might stem the tide.

A lot of liberal voters keep misunderstanding why so many of us on the left are not satisfied with “vote blue no matter who.” It is not because we do not understand how dangerous Republicans are. We understand it very clearly. We see what Trump has done. We see what Republicans have done through the courts, through state legislatures, through attacks on voting rights, civil rights, workers, immigrants, LGBTQ people, women, education, and basic democracy itself. The difference is that we are looking at the pattern. Every few years, Democrats tell people, “Vote for us because Republicans are dangerous.” Then Democrats get power, but instead of passing the kind of transformative policies that would materially change people’s lives, they govern cautiously, protect the status quo, and tell struggling people to be patient. Then people remain broke. Rent keeps going up. Groceries keep going up. Healthcare is still too expensive. Student debt is still crushing people. Wages are still too low. Billionaires and corporations keep getting richer. People lose faith. Voters get angry, discouraged, or stay home. Then Republicans come back into power even more extreme than before. And then the same cycle starts all over again. This is what the left is trying to explain. We are not asking for more because we are spoiled. We are asking for more because the bare minimum is not stopping fascism. Fear alone cannot be the entire strategy. You cannot keep telling people democracy is on the line while refusing to use power in a way that makes democracy worth believing in. If Democrats want people to keep showing up, they have to do more than say Republicans are worse. They have to prove that when they get power, they will fight for working people with the same urgency that Republicans fight for billionaires, corporations, judges, and control. Because if Democrats keep winning power and failing to deliver transformative change, the country will keep swinging back to Republicans. And if it is not Trump, it will be someone just as bad, or worse. That is the pattern. That is why the left pushes so hard. Not because we do not care about stopping Republicans, but because we understand that the only way to stop them long-term is to actually improve people’s lives.

@LTGetsPolitical I don't want to agree with Musk but we're heading towards either several major recessions or a full on depression when AI, housing and other markets crash. Not to mention global tensions resulting in full on wars. 401k's won't survive the markets. It might truly not matter.

@Blurbstv Don't agree with this at all. Unless your measurement of "success" is 20k+ viewers. Vinny Vinesauce spikes at 10k+ on Sundays and does variety. Northernlion was getting 14k for Tomodatchi. And Ray does a consistent 2-3k every stream playing whatever he wants.

Unless you're already successful, the days of being able to make a living as "chill variety gamer" are long gone imo. Might be controversial I just don't see how all of this works long-term for the average streamer.

@inkfycreates Games break and most people don't know how to fix them. The supply of retro *things* be they computer parts or consoles will continue to dry up as time goes on. As they become rarer the prices will only increase as supply dwindles. That's how all older hardware works.

@inkfycreates If their stance is "emulation nullifies your opinion" then it's not worth engaging with them. They're not going to listen or debate in good faith. If someone has thousands of dollars to buy shit, then go for it, but it's an ever declining supply versus cost. Demand beats supply.

Emulation isn't perfect but neither are older games on official hardware. As hardware degrades, Emulation will be the only surefire way to play these titles. Furthermore, companies use their own in-house emulators! And in some cases those official re-releases play worse. Lol
