MEME 👏 COIN 👏 DROP 👏 UPDATE (Like/Share/Comment for cool points) My goal has been to do the fairest meme launch ever. This takes a bit of planning, hence my recent silence. No more. I have partnered with @MeteoraAG and the kinks are unkinked. Here's how this will work. Sometime in late February we will just drop an entry form out of nowhere. It will be on my Twitter. It will be a main post on my feed. If you click/enter anything before that, your stupid and I don't care if you lose all my money. In the event I get hacked (unlikely)...The form will require NO WALLET CONNECTION OR FUNDS. I'd pay close attention to my content on Youtube and here as I will leave hints on the form drop time. We will then collect an undecided amount of wallets (probably between 5,000 and 15,000). People that are cool will likely have a cooler time than those that are uncool. If only there was some way to ensure coolness. These wallets will have the meme dispersed to them equally. You will then be able to come at your leisure on the Solana blockchain and pick up your allocation. It is 100% free outside the gas which you will have to cover (should be very cheap). We have ways to prevent this from being gamed. If you want to try to submit multiple wallets, spam it by all means try...You will just lose your spot. (We have AI waiting by to examine the logs) It will be first come first serve. Entry will depend on how fast you are + how cool you are. Hence why the people that watch/collect the hints will reign supreme. There is also CIPHER and MINI allocations. Assuming the coin runs to 100 mil a CIPHER allocation will likely be worth six figures. A mini allocation worth 5 figures. Currently 3/10 ciphers have been one. 10 out 100 mini allocations have been won. Leading up to the drop I will be posting/hosting fucked up challenges. The winners/participants/people that solve my riddles and games will get the ciphers/minis. These will be fully issued BEFORE the drop. When all are issued we are probably getting close. On the actual drop it will AGAIN be posted on my main Twitter here. AGAIN you will NOT have to deposit ANYTHING to get your coins. The final @GLHFers / @playgigaverse auction in this batch of 7 is now live. So far there's been over 625E (>$2m) of bid interest in the auctions, pretty nuts. There's a further 123 characters to be (slowly) auctioned over time. Here's how it works & what we've learned: [1] Auctioneer To administer the auctions, we created both a character (the Auctioneer - he is himself a 1/1 Special Character in the GLHFers collection) and a smart contract. Auctions are run on the GLHFers website, which integrates with our community Discord server. [2] Contract We modified the Nouns auction contract, for a couple of obvious reasons: (1) known/trusted, (2) works, (3) allows some useful customizability. Some customization options: - what the starting bid is (we use 0.05 ETH) - what the minimum bid increase is (we use 5%) - the length of the auction (we use 24hrs) Changing these parameters alone introduces some pretty funky dynamics, but there's much more we can do too. The contract: #code" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">etherscan.io/address/0xb928… [3] Buy & burn Early on in the Auctioneer's life he was "corrupted" by another Special Character. As a result of this, he uses auction funds raised to buy & burn the floor of the GLHFers collection. This creates a perpetual flywheel and the collection is deflationary. [4] Some reflections / learnings from this batch a. The first batch of auctions was 20. It was too long. This batch of auctions is 7. It's probably just about right, perhaps even shorter / smaller is better. b. Most bid action happens right at the start and the end of the auction. A long lull embetween if the auction runs 24 hours. I've thought about shorter auctions but that makes things tricky in terms of timezone coverage. I think the play here could be incentivizing smaller bids / allowing lower increments. c. We decided not to reveal all the character art and abilities in advance. That was an opinionated choice, to let people enjoy each being revealed one by one. It's possible if people knew what the characters were in advance, more people would have "picked a favorite" to bid on in advance without waiting on each reveal. It's also possible more people would've bid on the first character - Crusader - who gets a 10% cut of the other 6 auctions in this batch. That could've led to a higher first auction settlement and added more momentum in to the rest. Interesting to theorycraft but ultimately wouldn't change this in hindsight. [5] Future batches Things we wanna look at for future batches: - Very smol batches or even singular auctions - Interesting / novel mechanics (eg fractionalized 1/1) - Interesting bid dynamics (eg blind auction) - Interesting character utility - Guest artists - More [6] Should other teams do this? Part of why this works for GLHFers is that the auctioned characters mint to our main collection. I think this is very important, it wouldn't hit the same if auctioned characters ended up in a separate collection. So in its current configuration, I think this could be interesting to newly minting collections who want to leave some final tokens in their collections to be auctioned. The GLHFers crew are happy to help any other good teams who want to leverage our approach - do the same thing, or a variant of it. Chobo, the final character, wraps in under a couple of hours. He has an interesting / unexplained utility - "Pet Trainer". TLDR: auction tech gud. Everything is a game.
