I can pound the table on $NOW financials. I can argue that their reoriented, frontend agnostic product suite will thrive in the AI era. I can argue why they’re too cheap. It’s all a waste of time. Blah blah blah. The real bull case? McDermott oozes aura. Game. Set. Match.

That $DDOG quarter was awesome. 33% revenue growth well ahead of expectations. Acceleration broad-based across AI & non-AI cohorts. Fastest rate for the company in over two years despite stable Y/Y comps. Retention rates 2+ year highs. Existing customer Q/Q usage growth rate 4 year highs. New logo deal size & new logo bookings both up 100% Y/Y. So robustly healthy trends for new & existing business. Annual revenue guide raised by nearly 6% despite being especially prudent in their OpenAI contribution assumptions. 51% Y/Y backlog growth bodes very well for the future. No AI disruption in sight there. Modest gross margin pressure (10 bps Y/Y) but EBIT & FCF margins expected to be flat this year before resume expansion in 2027 despite all of the new product rollouts & associated go-to-market investments. & while these headwinds were expected, they've been more modest. New annual EBIT guide was 9% ahead of expectations & 2026 EBIT estimates are now up nearly 20% from the lows. That points to effectively controlling added AI costs to upgrade their products and an ability to turn investments into revenue & returns. Their consumption-based observability model is ideally positioned for agentic era. No seat-based model transition needed here. They don't care if usage is human-based or agent-based & benefit from the explosion in token consumption & traffic we're currently seeing. The platform is easily extensible to new opportunities like GPU monitoring during a time when everyone is figuring out how to find better compute utilization rates & visibility. They have quickly become the observability leader as they scale & deliver outcomes that competitors can’t match. Maybe that’s why hyperscalers are adopting it despite having their own observability products & plenty of budget to update it. They’re pairing this innovation with a new AI experiments product (low stakes split testing on steroids), an MPC & their growing list of security agents to automate more customer work. Their new Bits AI security agent, for example, is showing an ability to cut threat investigations by 98% early on. Generally speaking, customers continue to standardize across more of its platform. Now 1/5 of them use 8+ products vs. 1/10 two years ago. Pace of progress is accelerating meaningfully. And? All of this good platform work is why the platform is being increasingly used by AI leaders. Companies thought to easily supplant them are signing on & renewing. It landed two more of the "AI research divisions at two of the world's largest tech companies" as clients after renewing with OpenAI. Overall, it has 22 AI cohort customers now spending over $1M/year on the platform (5 over $10M). We’ve heard a ton of talk about software names never enjoying any kind of valuation premium for their fundamental success. Well? That’s already wrong. This name is expensive. 85x EPS and a growth multiple over 4x! They’re killing it. They are being rewarded like they’re killing it. And that’s great news for the other software names that are killing it and haven’t been rewarded. Go execute like Datadog is. The rest will take care of itself.
