Our Year 9 students enjoyed two fantastic days on their Bronze DofE practice expedition, with clear skies, great teamwork and a very cold night in between. They showed resilience, independence and real commitment throughout, supporting each other every step of the way.
We are very proud of how they approached the challenge and look forward to seeing them put their learning into practice on their assessment expedition soon. #WeAreHaydon #SpaceToGrow #DofE @DofE

Our students took part in a Maths Competition at the University of Oxford and represented the school brilliantly.
They approached each challenge with focus and confidence, achieving excellent results while enjoying the day's unique atmosphere. In addition to the competition, they enjoyed a guided visit to one of the University’s colleges and attended an inspiring talk from the distinguished Professor Robin Wilson.
It was a fantastic opportunity to experience a prestigious academic setting and test their skills alongside other talented students.
Well done to everyone involved for their effort, attitude and success. #WeAreHaydon #SpaceToGrow #Oxford_mtc

Yesterday, we were proud to welcome a range of external visitors to Haydon School to deliver the Your Life You Choose programme as part of our Year 7 drop-down day.
Throughout the day, students took part in a series of engaging workshops led by the Police, Ambulance Service, Youth Justice, KISS and Sorted. These sessions provided valuable insights, real-life perspectives and important life lessons that support our students in making positive and informed choices.
Opportunities like this are something we are committed to providing regularly, ensuring our students benefit from meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
A big thank you to all the organisations involved for their time, expertise and continued support. #WeAreHaydon #SpaceToGrow

On Wednesday, 4th March, a small group of Haydon students represented the borough of Hillingdon at the London Youth Games at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. The boys qualified for the event after winning the borough qualifier earlier this academic year. The boys represented the borough impeccably well against some very tough opposition from other boroughs - coming 5th overall in the whole of London (narrowly missing out on qualification for the semi-finals by just one place)! All of the students were a real credit to the school for the respect and effort they put into the tournament, and they have a lot to be proud of, especially as futsal is not a regular sport for many of them. The whole squad of players were excellent throughout, but a special mention goes to Harry and Olly (both year 9 students), who didn't look at all out of place despite playing up an age group - well done, boys! #WeAreHaydon #SpaceToGrow

Our Year 12 students took part in the inspiring Talk About The Future workshop, delivered by expert trainers from Talk The Talk and funded in part by the Jack Petchey Foundation.
The session focused on developing oracy skills, helping students recognise their unique experiences and strengths, and building the confidence to articulate them clearly. Through purposeful discussion and practical activities, students were encouraged to step forward, share their ideas and grow in confidence within a supportive and respectful environment.
A sincere thank you to Talk The Talk for delivering such a powerful and engaging workshop, and to the Jack Petchey Foundation for their continued support in creating meaningful opportunities for our young people.

Last night, we were proud to welcome our EPQ cohort and their families to Haydon School for our EPQ Celebration Evening.
The evening began in the Sixth Form Study Room, where families watched a presentation showcasing the breadth, depth and originality of this year’s projects. It was a powerful reflection of the intellectual curiosity, independence and resilience our students have demonstrated throughout their EPQ journey.
This was followed by the presentation of certificates, celebrating an exceptional set of results. An outstanding 78% of our cohort achieved A* grades, compared with a national average of around 21%. This remarkable achievement speaks volumes about our students' ambition and the strength of the support around them.
The celebrations continued with a meal in the Sixth Form Common Room, giving students, families, and staff the opportunity to come together and mark the occasion in a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to their families for the encouragement they provide throughout the process. Thank you to our dedicated supervisors, who generously volunteer their time to guide and challenge each project, and to Mrs Foxon, whose leadership of the EPQ programme over the past three years has ensured its continued success and ever-improving outcomes.
Congratulations to this exceptional cohort. We are already looking forward to welcoming the next group of EPQ students and celebrating more outstanding achievements in the year ahead. #WeareHaydon #SpaceToGrow
