Global mean sea level has risen by about 20–25 cm (or ~21–24 cm / 8–9 inches since 1880). 1982 CBS News (Dan Rather): Warned that global warming could flood ~25% of Florida (and other low-lying East Coast areas) in the next century via melting ice and rising seas.
