“Bring back the death penalty for all pedophiles.” No. The death penalty cannot be reversed. That alone should end the discussion. Courts make mistakes. False accusations happen. And once you execute someone, there is no correction. No appeal. No justice left to restore. Also, this argument confuses two completely different things. Attraction is not the same as action. The vast majority of people with such tendencies are harmless. You do not execute people for thoughts. That is not justice. That is barbarism. When a crime is committed, the response must be severe, clear, and effective. Protect children. Punish offenders. Absolutely. But punishment must be rational, not driven by rage. If you introduce torture or expand the death penalty based on moral panic, you do not strengthen the system. You destroy it. And one more thing. If every offender knows they face death anyway, you remove any remaining incentive not to escalate harm. That is basic logic, not ideology. Justice requires control. Not revenge.
