I've been using 3D models as a drawing aid for nearly 10 years now. Not only did it teach me how to navigate 3D space and pose them naturally, but it also saves me a ridiculous amount of time on each drawing. If someone tells you it's “wrong,” they’re talking out of their ass...

Damn, that's crazy. Anyway, here's a commission I did where I posed 3D models and basic shapes during the blocking stage, which my client was aware of and approved through multiple phases. Something I was taught to do in college, by the way.

@Fuululuu Other sketchy art for comparison, it’s a lot easier for me to just sketch from LOOKING at references cause it’s less intimidating but I think they are a great tool. Man thing for me is the anatomy I prefer isn’t REAL UGH

@Fuululuu Personally I don’t like how I trace and it takes me longer cause the ‘preset’ lines makes me overthink. I like breaking anatomy to make poses more lively BUT I am so jealous of cspaint for the dolls. I love references and using them. I personally can’t utilize tracing very well
