The @Fight4OurHealth coalition of health care providers, workers, health & disability rights advocates fought against #HR1 which handed large corps $900B+ in tax credits while cutting healthcare. Now we call on #CaLeg to pass #AB177 in #CaBudget to protect from some of HR1 cuts..

On top of an already busy news day at the Capitol, there’s more this evening: ➡️Tonight, assemblymembers are set to vote on the budget agreement reached by @AsmDems and @CASenateDems. ➡️Meanwhile, demonstrators are rallying outside the Capitol in support of the Democrat-backed “Fair Share From Big Corporations” proposal, which would require some of California’s largest corporations that do not already provide health coverage for certain workers to help pay into Medi-Cal costs. Supporters say the plan will generate at least $5 billion in state revenue. @CASenReps argue it could hurt major employers and cost jobs.

“A delay is one more day that someone can see a dentist, one more day that someone can get cancer treatment, one more day they can access their meds...But we can’t keep living in a boom & bust cycle where immigrants don’t know if they will have healthcare this year or next.”

On Monday, #CAleg Assembly released their #CAbudget plan. Health and immigration advocates are deeply disappointed at the decision to double down on the worst of the @CAgovernor 's cuts and throw immigrants under the bus, particularly without the fiscal outlook to justify it.
