MOMENTS AGO: State Sen. @SenMariaEDurazo (D-Los Angeles), @AsmMiaBonta (D-Oakland), Sen. @Lola_Smallwood (D-Los Angeles), and @AsmLizOrtega (D-San Leandro) urged the legislature and Gov. @GavinNewsom to support Durazo’s bill to undo a freeze on new Medi-Cal enrollment for undocumented Californians age 18+ that took effect Jan. 1. Those already enrolled would have to start paying $30 monthly premiums next July. They’re also calling on Newsom and lawmakers to reverse a plan for Medi-Cal to stop covering non-emergency dental services for undocumented adults starting this summer. “We are calling on our colleagues in the legislature and on the governor: reverse these cuts,” Durazo said.

Talking to @CalMatters, our @RachelLG83 says while CA Gov candidates discuss single-payer, “we also want to see short-term solutions: how they are going to start on Day One to protect Medi-Cal, Covered California, coverage for immigrants and LGBTQ care.”
