@NicoleUpNorth Hi Nicole, I’m so glad you could be at the school at age 22. I totally get it, in-person was truly special. ❤️ The online change wasn’t about cost. After teaching for 20 years, I was exhausted, and needed a sustainable way to continue.

@HealthyJoshua I attended IIN back in 2003-2004. I was 22. Less than 10 years later I met a woman that explained that she took the course online! I was semi shocked. So much of the experience was being there in person. I understand that it is more cost effective for everyone to not travel

I hope you’ll enjoy what I’ve learned from this tiny puppy. I met Zoe soon after she was born. She was a teeny tiny puppy, full of curiosity, eager to connect with the world. Over the years, she’s been teaching me more about life than I ever imagined. From Zoe, I learned about unconditional love. Her affection is pure and cuddly. She greets me every time she sees me as though I am her whole world. She shows me that love doesn’t need reasons. Zoe taught me to live in the moment. She isn’t one to worry about the past or the future; she enjoys each moment as it comes Whether chasing a bird or basking in the sun, Zoe is a master at being fully in the present. What a great skill to embody. Her loyalty is unshakable. Zoe is always there for me, in joy and in sorrow, always beside me with those knowing eyes. She shows me that loyalty is a quiet presence, a commitment to stand by loved ones, no matter what. In Zoe, I see the power of resilience. She faced challenges— boredom, tummy aches, the anxiety of new surroundings—with a surprising strength and quiet determination. Each setback she faced became a lesson in how to bounce back and move forward without bitterness. Zoe’s curiosity is endless. Every leaf, sound, and scent is a new adventure for her. Watching her explore reminded me of the wonder in small things and the importance of never losing that hunger to learn. With Zoe, I see empathy in its simplest form. She can sense when I’m upset, her eyes softening as she sits beside me quietly, offering comfort without words. Her sensitivity to my moods taught me how to be more in tune with the emotions of others. Forgiveness comes naturally to Zoe. No matter how many times I left to go travel or I couldn’t give her all my attention, she never held a grudge. Her forgiveness was swift and complete, reminding me of the peace that comes with letting go. Finally, Zoe taught me the joy of small things. A walk, a treat, a simple belly rub—she found happiness in moments we often overlook. She showed me that joy isn’t in grand gestures; it’s in the tiny moments that make up our everyday lives. So in short, Zoe’s shown me how to live, love, and forgive in ways only a true teacher can. Funny enough, they say dog is God spelled backward. Zoe is a divine messenger sent to teach me all the things I didn’t know I needed. Thank you, Zoe! P.S. Six months ago I put the above thoughts into words. I read it to myself once an month and this has changed my life. It’s an odd thing to say, but each month I feel myself shifting, becoming less like the person I used to be and more like a dog. Or perhaps more like Zoe herself. I feel freer, happier, more loving. Less burdened by the past, more present in the moment. I greet the world with more curiosity, more openness, more joy. Zoe’s way of being has seeped into me, and has become me. I can think of no greater gift. Maybe the greatest lesson of my life!

Just wrapped up writing my next book “Hustle from the Heart” to share about how I built the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to serve humanity. The book will be published later this year. Here’s a section on synchronicity that I hope you’ll enjoy! Let me know your thoughts. When I started the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I had no formal business plan. Instead, I let myself be guided by the belief that whatever is running the universe—whether you call it God, nature, or the divine—wanted me to succeed. All I had to do was pay attention to the signs, seize the opportunities that came my way, and trust that things would work out. I know it might sound crazy, but so much of my life has worked out this way. When I’m aligned with my purpose, all the pieces fall into place—perfect and seamless, as if some unseen force is coordinating the steps. One thing always leads to another. You’ve likely experienced it before—those moments when everything just seems to click, as if the universe is working in your favor. Maybe you crossed paths with someone who became a valuable connection at just the right time or stumbled upon an opportunity that changed the course of your life. These moments, often dismissed as coincidences, carry a deeper significance. People who experience synchronicity regularly aren’t just lucky—they’re operating on a different wavelength, naturally attracting what they need into their lives. You’ve probably noticed these people and thought, “Wow, amazing things always happen to her. She’s so lucky.” But luck isn’t the whole story. Scientific research on positivity and attraction shows that, on a molecular level, our thoughts and actions help shape our reality. For me, synchronicity thrives when I feel healthy, supported, loved, and aligned with my mission. It’s strongest when I’m open and still, acting as a vessel for the possibilities around me. As a highly sensitive person and deep thinker, my natural tendency to reflect inward helps me tune into signals that guide my path. This natural sensitivity aligns me with synchronicity, but it’s something anyone can develop. By trusting your instincts, avoiding overanalysis, and staying grounded in the present, you learn to spot the universe’s opportunities when they appear—and recognize the bigger pattern they represent.

Japan: Beneath the Surface I’ve been living in Japan for most of the past year and it has had a profound impact on my mind, body, and soul. Even with the crowds, there’s a deep sense of tranquility—an almost palpable stillness woven into the daily rhythm of life; streets are orderly, traffic flows smoothly, and the quietness of public spaces is striking. The food is deeply nourishing, and it’s easy to see why Japan has the longest lifespan in the world. I feel a deep level of healing happening here. #Japan #Tokyo

Being in Japan is like living in a parallel reality. So similar, yet so different.

The food industry knows all about the addictive chemicals they put into food, just like the cigarette industry knew exactly what they were doing.

While I consider myself an optimistic person, I must admit I never truly believed this would come to fruition. The possibility always felt just out of reach, like a distant dream rather than a realistic outcome.
