In addition to the #NoKingsMarch28 protest, I want to make you aware that there are 2 elections happening next Tuesday: one in Georgia's 14th district and the other for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Democrats need to turn out for both of them, both of them flip if every Dem votes

Brookings' Survey shows alarming drop in working conditions for teachers: What are we doing about it? buff.ly/xyvbmcw @NAESP "Teachers’ working conditions are students’ learning conditions."

If anyone wants to help I spent a few hours talking to medical students in Havana today who work at a hospital who said they need N95s or equivalents desperately. I’ve already worked with someone to secure 5,000 masks but 40,000 supplies their entire hospital staff for a year.

The best thing we can do for our kids right now is to just let them be kids. Kids are getting cell phones sooner than any generation before them, screen times are up while real human connection is down, and foundational skills aren’t being taught enough these days. We need to take a step back. It’s why I just signed a bipartisan bill into law, requiring cursive handwriting to once again be taught in PA public schools. It’s also why I’ve called on the legislature to pass a bill requiring schools to both implement a bell-to-bell cell phone ban and guarantee recess for every Pennsylvania student. Let’s continue our work to set young people on a path to success — and let our kids be kids.

About four years ago, a young lady from Abilene, Texas named Sydney decided she wanted to do something meaningful for the people around her. She signed up for The 50 Yard Challenge and committed herself to serving her community. Over time, Sydney went on to mow 50 free lawns for people who needed help — including the elderly, disabled, single parents, veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders. Each lawn she completed was another reminder that kindness and hard work can make a real difference. Sydney’s accomplishment also helped shine a light on something important — we need more young ladies stepping up and getting involved in the program . Programs like The 50 Yard Challenge aren’t just about the work being done, they’re about building confidence, leadership, and showing young girls that they can take initiative, work hard, and lead by example. When one young lady like Sydney steps forward, it often encourages others to believe they can do the same. What Sydney did four years ago still echoes today. The lawns she mowed helped people in need, but the example she set helped inspire the next generation of kids to serve their communities with pride. Parents, if you’re looking for a positive way for your kids to grow, learn responsibility, and give back to the community, The 50 Yard Challenge is a great place to start. Kids across the country are stepping up every day and making a difference right where they live. Sign your kid up : bit.ly/50yardsignup
