Heat will build across the western US this weekend into early next week. High temperatures could climb 20 to 30 degrees above normal for some locations. New daily high temperature records may be set. Learn how to beat the heat: weather.gov/safety/heat

Summerlike heat will expand from the Desert Southwest to the Central and Southern Plains this week. High temperatures will soar well into the 80s/90s to near 100, while heat indices climb into the 90s and low to mid 100s. Stay cool!
