@pompeycal_ @BrendonBone10 Vicious circle really Cal, people see the state and decline of Commercial Road and those they linger there, then decide to shop online which in turn hastens the demise of what’s once a great place to go for shopping, shirts, suits etc like Mirage for example.

@BrendonBone10 I keep saying that every time I end up down there. Needs completely demolishing but it’ll just end up as more crack den flats. Not much point in rebuilding a shopping centre as people prefer online shopping, real shame

@Andrew33080654 @dannyowen54 My great uncle’s name is on that memorial, got torpedoed three times on three different ships, didn’t get his feet wet with the first two as he was able to get off before they went under. The third got him though, went down with the ship. All three were on his was home.

@dannyowen54 We often take the kids down the war memorial in Southsea and read the names of the fallen and point out how young they were. During the remembrance service all the names of the fallen from the parish are read out. 🫡

These d day veterans really are hero’s, they must wonder what it was all for us British must make sure their legacy and heroism never dies, in a world that’s such a shit show at the minute they really are something to be proud of #DDay
