Quick clarification since this came up today about Zach Lavine: "Miami triggered the first apron so they can't sign a bought-out player" — not quite. The restriction applies to teams operating ABOVE the first apron. Miami is hard-capped at it, which is different as they still sit below the line. Also: I believe that the buyout rule only applies to players waived once the regular season has started. Offseason buyouts aren't covered. So the actual constraints are the exception Miami has to work with and staying under that hard cap. I still think the buyout + him going to Miami is unlikely. @5ReasonsSports @5OTF_
