Thought to myself, ‘ooh, I know….i’ll book myself a full body massage for my birthday’. It’s never simple nowadays. And I detest hotels/exclusive health clubs ‘spa days’. Urgh! Don’t like the vibe in those places at all. Can’t be bothered to spend my life scrolling… 🤣🤣🤣

@NickDiFabio1 He’s not just ‘this 82 year old man’. Don’t describe people by their age. Believe me, you will not like it one bit ‘if’ you get older. In spite of him being a highly revered therapist and expert on childhood development, Gabor Maté is human. Not a number.

@HeatherBo63 So glad it went as well as it could and you’ve got some immediate relief 🙂 and yes you’re bound to be sore! Makes such a difference when you’re cared for by people who put you at ease doesn’t it. Extra spoiling tomorrow, you’ve earned it this week 🥰

I spoil myself every day Deb... lol! Princess that I am. 🤣🤣 I woke up with a headache but that's my fault... haha 🍷. But... my bloating has gone. First time in 2 months I could put my knickers on without them cutting into my legs. (I know... tmi!). I have a slight bit of tenderness... the endoscopist told me I might be a little tender today due to the removal of the polyps. Understandable eh? Honestly they were all so lovely yesterday though Deb. Just brilliantly funny and lots of banter. I'm so glad they're out. It's hard to imagine little things like that could have caused so much pain. (It's always a long story with me, isn't it? I'm sorry, I'm just a very wordy person). xx

This is how I feel about maternity deaths now…everyone has a story. Especially now. The empty chairs, the missing mothers as well as the missing babies. 💔

Some people experience such awful trauma. After I’d had my procedure today and was dressed and having my cup of tea, a very handsome and elderly Sikh man was shown to a seat opposite me. We exchanged some chit chat and then he told me about his arranged marriage to his wife and them both moving to the UK in 1965. He bought his first house in Leamington Spa for £2.5k. They literally started with nothing but he was always pretty ‘savvy’ and a hard grafter. He started a small business. Nothing fancy. Nothing like ‘business’ today. He was a humble and spiritual man. And incredibly dignified. We exchanged chat and questions respectfully. He then told me that one of his daughters had been murdered by her jealous husband 6 years ago. She was 32. Her sadistic estranged husband let himself into her house (he still had a key) and whilst she lay there asleep, he repeatedly struck her head with a metal rod. He was eventually arrested and is serving a life sentence. In that moment, I felt so much empathy for this man. And such anger for women who experience domestic abuse in any form. His lift arrived and we shared a hug. I was overwhelmed by his whole story. We should engage much more with people. Everyone has a sad story. Everyone’s story matters.

Haha.. than I've been having for the past 6 years, not just lately. It's a long and tedious story. Anyway, I thank you. x And.... I can't remember if you mentioned it but do you live in Northumberland??? I get pangs when I read that anyone has been to my favourite place in the UK. Craster is lovely, Amble too.. all the places that are less touristy. The last time I was in Alnwick was 5 years ago. I took my mum to Alnwick Gardens which was glorious! It was on my birthday and the weather was amazing. Did you go to the Gardens?

@HeatherBo63 My husband took me to Alnwick for a couple of days. We had a mooch around and went to the castle and Barter Books. We took our time going home too, went to Craster and a couple of other places. It was lovely actually. I hope you have a better day than you've been having lately xx

@pink_meerkat1 I usually spend it on my own. Not ‘poor me’ but it is what it is. I’d love it to be different and it’s important to be honest about things. I must have missed your birthday post. Hope you had a day you were happy with. Xx

I found a new hairdresser who recently cut my hair and did an amazing Kerastase spray conditioning treatment. She was incredible and also I very nice person. She doesn't do colour though and I booked with their colourist for this coming Saturday. She asked me to bring in some photos of what I would like. I was just browsing Pinterest as they used to be great for hair styles/colour. But now it seems that all the images are AI, and also of young girls with long wavy hair. Annoying. Instagram similar. Grrrrr.

Could cry. Phoned GP on the dot of when their lines opened. 26th in queue. Got through finally. All appointments gone. Cannot book me in later in week. Have to try again tomorrow or next day. No guarantee the same won’t happen again. Happened last time too and ended up in A&E.

@HeatherBo63 A close friend and work colleague was murdered in Blackburn in very similar circumstances in the mid 80s. She’d only been married for about 6 months and couldn’t have been much older than 21. I think about her often. She regretted the marriage and didn’t love the fella. 💔
