Her endorsement by the California Professional Firefighters and CalFIRE Local 2881 along with many local firefighters, emergency managers and first responders highlights her commitment to public safety and emergency management, reflecting her extensive experience in the field. For the past seven years, Heather has served as an emergency manager as the Modoc County Deputy Office of Emergency Services and now for the Modoc County Office of Education, working to ensure the safety and well-being of her community. Her expertise in crisis response and disaster preparedness has equipped her with the skills necessary to advocate for policies that support our firefighters and enhance public safety measures across California. Heather has worked alongside police and fire when managing natural disasters affecting the North State. Heather’s first-hand experience has given her a deep understanding of the unique challenges facing first responders. The support from the California Professional Firefighters and its 35,000 members behind Heather’s campaign stands as a testament to her commitment to securing full funding for public safety, ensuring that firefighters have the necessary resources to keep us safe, and investing in proactive wildfire prevention. Heather's campaign focuses on strengthening resources for emergency services, improving wildfire response strategies, and ensuring that firefighters and emergency personnel receive the support they need to keep our communities safe. Heather thanked CAL FIRE Local 2881 for their support, saying, "I am grateful to have the backing of CAL FIRE Local 2881 and its 7,000 members behind my candidacy. These brave men and women are thanklessly fighting fires on the front lines, protecting our forests, communities, and homes. As an Assemblymember, I will fight to protect the North State from dangerous wildfires by prioritizing mitigation, supporting our first responders, and ensuring wildfire insurance is accessible and affordable. I look forward to partnering with CAL FIRE Local 2881 to ensure a safe North State and California." As a proven leader in emergency management, Heather is committed to listening to the needs of our first responders and advocating for policies that enhance safety and preparedness across California. “Our district has been plagued by fires, not only will I fight to make sure our firefighters have what they need to respond, but I understand the recovery side of disaster and will work tirelessly to make this process easier for victims of disaster. I am tired of watching our communities and forests burn.” said Hadwick. For more information about Heather Hadwick’s campaign, please visit votehadwick.com.
