Celebrity endorsements for Karen Bass don’t matter. These Beverly Hills celebrities can’t speak for LA voters because they can’t even vote for Mayor of LA. Chelsea Handler, Magic Johnson, Lisa Rinna, Samuel L. Jackson, and Drew Carey live in Beverly Hills with a functioning police department and completely different problems. They don’t deal with LA residents waiting hours for police response, homelessness taking over neighborhoods, or 911 putting people on hold. Their endorsements are meaningless to people actually living through the crisis. Spencer Pratt has come to the defense of baker Daniela Romano—who lost everything in the Palisades Fire, like Pratt and his family—after she was allegedly attacked by Jimmy Kimmel’s relative Carly Kimmel for selling sugar cookies decorated in support of Pratt’s campaign. Romano works at Vicente Foods in Brentwood, CA. “That woman [Kimmel] was trying to stop somebody from trying to support their family. I hope they [Kimmel family] go support a fire victim that lost everything and maybe make amends and buy some of these cookies. I think that would be a good apology,” Pratt told the California Post as he held a box of the pro-Pratt cookies. “We’re doing a lot of things, but I’ll always have time to support people that are trying to build back from nothing and that are being attacked by people that obviously don’t understand that my message is common sense,”
