It is past time for bold action in academia to make our departments live up to existing DEI promises to BIPOC students. The initial response to our letter makes me hopeful for realizing these urgent changes. It will take hard work, but the passion of others here inspires me.

Excited to share our new preprint! Together with @nicolecrockey @KathrynLangenf4 @GreatLakesKate @waterwiggi + more, we show that humidity is critical for heat inactivation of viruses on masks and that depositing viruses in media may overestimate inactivation.
