Women’s rights are never permanently guaranteed. They are won through constant struggle, through courage, and through vigilance that must never weaken.
On March 8, as on every other day of the year.
A tribute to all the women who, every day, keep this fight alive.
Those who commit themselves, who take action, who raise their voices when necessary, and who, through their courage and dedication, inspire present and future generations.
Today, my thoughts are especially with the women living through the wars and conflicts affecting our world.
As the first victims of violence, they are also, everywhere, essential actors in peace, resistance and reconstruction. While some seek to destroy, they rebuild. While some seek to subjugate, they stand firm.
France stands by their side, tirelessly and without rest.
I extend a message of solidarity and admiration to the women of Iran. Their courage commands respect and reminds the world that freedom can never be silenced.
The fight for women’s rights is a universal one. It is the fight of both women and men, and it concerns us all. It will go on. For as long as equality is not a reality everywhere, France will be there to take action.
