Oh, what a triumph in Charlottetown! The crowning achievement? Nine provinces signed an agreement to let us buy out-of-province booze directly. Amazing After decades of interprovincial trade barriers strangling the economy, they finally cracked the booze cabinet. Quebec sat it out, of course, because why spoil a good protection racket? No plan to deal with Trump's wake-up call. Just vague promises to "intensify negotiations" while the clock ticks toward August 19. Another photo-op summit where Canada's leaders proved they're excellent at projecting confidence and terrible at actual delivery. Canadians facing higher prices and economic pain can rest easy knowing their premiers had a constructive chat and some Island lobster. Problem solved.
