@HeinrichHyper @uisbg1 That’s not what I meant. The USSR had almost 3 times as much men + a bigger industrial potential than Germany. If you slip into a war of attrition, the USSR’s gonna win. The German ressources deployed in the western front were not enough to tip the scale for a quick victory

@wollam_ @uisbg1 You don't need to bomb factories, that's American doctrine which you use strat bombers for. German doctrine was bombing supply hubs, ammo stores, train stations etc. That's what StuKas were especially good at. So you'd have seen a very real impact on the battlefield.

@HeinrichHyper @uisbg1 Even if this surge in planes from not fighting the BoB + the few hundred from the western front meant that they took Moscow. The Soviet factories were further east. How much time did they have for a total victory until they crumbled under the rising Soviet numbers ? Not enough.

@wollam_ @uisbg1 Even the fuel issue isn't a soviet but an allied achievement of preventing German commerce. The war was won by Allied Sailors and Pilots. Also obviously having more bomber and StuKas would've made a difference, that's why they built the bloody things.

@HeinrichHyper @uisbg1 The war in the east was halted while Germans had air superiority in the east, more planes wouldn’t have made a difference. By 1942-43 the Soviet industry was catching up, and produced more planes than Germany could ever, even without the strategic air war + THEY HAD NO FUEL

@HeinrichHyper @uisbg1 Ah you think the battle of Berlin was fought because they still had a chance. They were fanatics and blinded by the fog of war. Looking at modern numbers, the German had already lost the war when they failed to invade GB in 1940. Anything past that was a really painful agony.

@wollam_ @uisbg1 WW2 was in large parts an Air War, Aircraft production was the most expensive part. The soviets didn't win the Air war, Britain and America defeated the Luftwaffe. If there had been a pre-Britain LW, the soviets wouldn't have stood a chance.

@HeinrichHyper @uisbg1 The German casualty were 5 time higher is the east, the western front was very much secondary in the European theater. The German already threw all they had during early Barbarossa. Honestly it would have been bloodier and longer, but I don’t think the outcome would’ve changed
