Life is the only standard of value. By saying nothing is inherently valuable about human life you are making a value judgment. “This is not that”. You Undermine the thing that must be presupposed for you to make that statement. You can say, we “ought” not value life prescriptively but that’s incoherent because it’s descriptively true—an “is” that life is the only thing that roots that.
