I saw a post about worrying about starting a PhD at 27, because they would be 32 at completion. A friend made them feel better by pointing out that they would be 32 in five years anyway. My immediate thought was that both were likely single men.

@johngfriedman btw, don't choose the PhD because of the language. As English is dominant in all good conferences, just go for it. It is better to choose the place based on a good fit with the advisor's research topics and based on the previous students' success (in industry or academia). :)

@johngfriedman Good question, my PhD was in english and english was my second language. ;) I just felt that Montreal was a nice place to do a PhD in AI, as it has some strong labs, and I had the opportunity to visit during my master when I came to a conference. :)
