This afternoon I attended a workshop with Darren McGarvey. As a foster carer i have learnt about trauma informed parenting and how we support and parent traumatised children. However how do we widen trauma informed practice across all areas of society. One of the main concerns I took from today’s is we all know about the practice but how do we then use trauma informed responses across all areas of our lives, how do we break away from the norm and make the changes that need to be made in order to change the generational cycle that we are stuck in! If you get the chance to listen to Darren or read his books I would definitely recommend them he is inspirational, thought provoking and excellent at getting his message across about trauma informed practice in all areas of life.
