Looking at my diary I’ve got a very mixed bag of a week coming up. Some good stuff, a bit of nonsense - but also hopefully a good chunk of painting. A partner piece to this dahlia will be on its way very soon…

The lupins are cheering up the garden on a very grey day.

It’s nearly half past midnight and I’ve just been out in the pouring rain in my pyjamas to do a slug check on my dahlias because they’ve been annihilated over the past couple of days. The neighbours must think I’m bonkers. (And they’re probably right)

And dahlia number one is finished 😃😃 this is the second in a series of paintings inspired by the idea of finding ‘a world in a grain of sand’ and it’s been painted with the plan of submitting it to a local exhibition that has the theme of ‘Summer’.

Heading home from Yorkshire after a sad but lovely Celebration of Life ❤️ I am ready for my pjs and a large glass of red so I’m hoping the M62 gods are kind to us.

How beautiful and intricate is the middle of a dahlia 🤩🤩 the end is in sight for this little painting - which I’m really enjoying doing 🥰
