The earthquake occurred at 07:58 Beijing time, it was felt throughout Taiwan. The epicenter was located in the Pacific Ocean, 25 km southeast of the city of Hualien, at a depth of 15.5 km. More than 20 aftershocks have been recorded. Some buildings in Taiwan are tilted and partially destroyed. More than 87 thousand households remain without power supply, and Internet outages have been recorded. Tremors were also felt in Okinawa (Japan), Fujian and Jiangxi (China).
