@zennyyyplus From my point of view, the older comics I read aren't harder to read, because they are hard to understand, but because they're simply not enjoyable. The stakes are low, there is a lot of tell and don't show, the dialogue is clumsy, the characterization at times cheap, etc.

Silver age comics were read by 8-12 year old kids, you cannot be serious

@OctoY1 I appreciate what it did for Spider-Man as a character, but I can't pretend as if the writing and formatting of a comic written in 1965 still works for me in 2026

@OctoY1 I started reading the amazing spider-man as my first comic like two years ago, and it completely turned me off from comics in general for 8 months, because I thought all comics were written in that way😭

Noooo don't read the Spider-Man book that was literally made to get new readers into comics and is a now core foundation for nearly every adaption and the precursor to the current biggest legacy character out right now

@Mianewyer @hazelbethh .... What? I love Annabeth. She's like my sixth or seventh favourite riordanverse character. And I know that she is one of the most important people in his life. Their friendship in pjo is one of my favourite relationships in any of Rick's books

@Mianewyer @hazelbethh Botl Percy does not show any red flag behavior. At least not more than any other character. Most of the things people complain about are gross exagerations or just completely unfair towards him

@HelenaTired @hazelbethh Percy is not stupid. Percy did say he would burn down the world for Annabeth in the show and implied similar in the books. Annabeth is not the only reason he gave up godhood but she is a main one. Percy himself says this to Athena Botl Percy has some slight red flag behavior.

@Mianewyer @hazelbethh The main reason why Percy declined godhood was because he wanted to create a better world for demigods and demand leniency for the gods who were on the titan's side. Annabeth was a (comparatively) small reason. If she hadn't been there, he would have made the exact same choice

Like in Titan's curse, when he has to choose between asking about the whereabouts of Annabeth or about the whereabouts of the ophiotaurus and he chose the latter

@Mianewyer @hazelbethh Percy would never burn down the world for a single person. He'd make himself miserable, he would go through the worst of sufferings and he would kill himself for Annabeth (and all his other friends), but he would never cause harm to innocent people for another person's sake

@prettyboykats You have the canon couple that interacted in a meaningful way maybe 4 times throughout the entire anime, and then you have the two best friends, who are canonically soulmates, went through hell together and whose relationship is a huge part of the overall narrative😭
