With a little sadness and a lot of memories, our last place of interest is done. Pingvellir National Park (Almannagja) for a nice gentle stroll and now back to the hotel. @HelesSchool @High_Heles

Then off to the Haukadalur Geothermal Area to see the Great Geyser. With only 5-6 minutes between each burst of water we didn’t have long to wait! @HelesSchool @High_Heles

Great visit to the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Plant, safe to say that Mr Kelly was in his element. Next stop the Secret Lagoon! @HelesSchool @High_Heles

A few photos from the glacier walk yesterday. Lots of students pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and what a reward for doing so. Simply stunning! @HelesSchool @High_Heles

Yes! We managed to get a show in the sky last night. So many stunning photos to choose from so here’s a taster! @HelesSchool @High_Heles

Sadly, no visible Aurora last night. 😣 Today we have started at the Lava, Volcano and Earthquake Centre. A great morning looking at how the volcanic activity has formed the landscape we see. @HelesSchool

Lava tunnel to round off an amazing first day exploring the wonderful island. Now off to our cottages with the wishes of clear skies and the Northern Lights. @HelesSchool @High_Heles

What do we do when we’re ahead on time? Why not climb up to a volcanic crater!! Wow! @HelesSchool @High_Heles

Incredible day so far… bridge between two continents, then the Gunnuhver geothermal area. Stopped at the beautiful coastline and then visited the eerily quiet town of Grindavik. Now off to the lava tunnels for selfies galore! @HelesSchool @High_Heles
