@HelloStephano But you must understand it’s like them saying we will put an airport in Stanley Park. It is an abomination. Ford is a crook who has done such harm to TO already. To have the Feds get a piece of that is beyond the pale.

Please forgive me as I’m from the Vancouver area (and I love Toronto) but why is Billy Bishop airport even needed? Wouldn’t that airport footprint be a great island of supertall highrises with parks, sea wall & promenades? It would extend the Toronto skyline much like Hong Kong.

@patriciaorpat Comparing clearing Stanley Park, a world-famous, revered park since the beginning of this city (and incredibly sacred site for the Indigenous) and building an airport on it is NOT like expanding Billy Bishop airport. That’s insulting to hear.

@HelloStephano Yes that is why I was surprised by how you responded when I tried to put it in perspective for a Vancouverite. I have spent a lot of time there. Toronto has cherished places too. The waterfront is one.

The reason so many people, including many who have a good brain, misread the bridge deal so quickly is because the world saw the orange donkey raving about it being a spectacular deal for the U.S. and our own Lethbridge Liberace opposition leader quickly elevating Trump’s words.
