Congratulations to the U.S. Men’s and Women’s hockey teams, Alysa Liu, Breezy Johnson, Mikaela Shiffrin and all the amazing Olympic athletes representing @TeamUSA.

The United States women's hockey team won gold Thursday, beating rival Canada 2-1 in overtime. The team trailed Canada for the majority of the game until captain Hilary Knight scored with about two minutes left in regulation. With the goal, the U.S. and Canada entered a sudden-death, 3-on-3 overtime period, in which the first team to score wins. Megan Keller scored the game-winning goal with a little more than four minutes into the overtime period. The win marks the third Olympic gold medal for the U.S. in women's hockey, all against Canada. Actor James Van Der Beek, best known for the teen drama series "Dawson's Creek," has died at the age of 48. "Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning," his family wrote in a statement on Instagram. "He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace." Van Der Beek revealed in 2024 that he was being treated for colorectal cancer. He was best known for playing high schooler Dawson Leery on all six seasons of "Dawson's Creek," from 1998 to 2003. During his career, he also made appearances on "Criminal Minds," "Ugly Betty," "One Tree Hill" and "Franklin & Bash." He was also a regular in the short-lived sitcom "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23."
