Here’s my best Bob Uecker story. I was a college student in St. Paul, MN in 1992. My roommate and a couple buddies were huddled around the radio listening to Uecker on a barely audible, very staticky broadcast of the game before Robin Yount got his 3,000th hit. 1/3

We got to see Robin hit number 3,000. While we didn’t hear Uecker during the game in the stands, whenever I think about that night and watch the replay of Robin’s hit, it’s always Uecker’s call that I remember. RIP, Mr. Baseball. #ThisIsMyCrew 3/3

We decided if Yount ended the night at 2,999 we were leaving immediately, driving through the night, and going directly to County Stadium. We did just that. Got interviewed by the local news in the ticket line at like 6:30 am. 2/3

My favorite is at the 0:50 mark when Ueck wipes the edge of the whiskey bottle and flicks behind his ear like it’s cologne. So subtle. You never hear it mentioned but it’s hilarious.
